Your Devoted Kitchen is your Work Hub… Find out how to easily Wow your Friends & Family

Cafe Appliances in a newly remodeled Kitchen

You are probably wondering what’s the work hub of my kitchen.  Well, that’s easy.  It’s the appliances.  They can become your hero or the villain.  You will either be singing their praises or saying things you never knew could come out of your mouth.  The home appliance industry is a multi-billion-dollar industry.  I will be highlighting where appliances are manufactured (made), the top 3 questions, and appliance trends.  So, let’s begin…

Where are Appliances Manufactured (made)?

Well that depends on the brand.  Did you know there are amazing appliance manufacturers in Wisconsin?  Yes, Sub-Zero Refrigeration, Wolf Cooking, & Cove Dishwashing are all manufactured in Wisconsin.  They are the leaders in the appliance industry.  I had a client who wanted to update their cabinetry.  They wanted to change their 80’s kitchen into their modern style.  The refrigerator was Sub-Zero, and it was easy to upgrade.  Since they had appliance panels on their current Sub-Zero refrigerator, I just had to find the specs to make sure the new appliance panels would work perfectly and they did.  Their refrigerator was 15years old and was still going strong.

Here’s the top list from past and present clients:

  • Whirlpool Appliances = USA

  • GE Appliances = USA & China

  • LG Appliances = China

  • Miele Appliances = Germany

  • Frigidaire Appliances = USA

  • Dacor Appliances = USA

Top 3 General Appliance Questions…

1. Can appliances be included in the construction loan? Yes, permanent fixtures as your appliances and landscaping can be included. How do I know? I was going to build a house when my first born was only 18-months old. My life turned upside and I had to move-in with my parents.

2. Can appliances be included in the mortgage? Yes, if you need to replace, make sure you ask and include them in the loan. I learned this the hard way. I was unaware of this and now I am currently in the process of updating my appliances when they quit.

3. Can appliances be installed before your new countertops? Yes, countertops are installed after the flooring, cabinets, and appliances. Your appliances will need to be in place for the template/measure process. When it comes to the countertop installation your slide-in range or freestanding range will be pulled out of the way to install the countertop without damaging your appliance.

 Appliance Trends…

Yes, I know. I never write about trends because it doesn’t matter what the trend is if it’s not your décor or style. In this case it still doesn’t matter. I just want you to be aware of it. Especially since you are looking for appliances or going appliance shopping. The hottest trend that was even showcased at KBIS (Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) was Café Appliances. The finishes are spectacular. They have these amazing matte finishes in white & black. You can also customize the hardware, so the possibilities are endless. You are probably wondering who makes it. It’s GE Appliances. They have repositioned themselves in the appliance industry due to these beauties…
