I had a wonderful opportunity to tour Cambria with Select Surfaces earlier this month. It was an amazing experience to tour the one and only manufacturing plant right here in Minnesota (Le Sueur). Cambria is privately held and owned by the Davis family. Marty Davis took the time out of his full schedule to speak to us “the designers” who spec and create beautiful designs with their product.
I am not receiving any monetary for writing this blog from Cambria. I am just very passionate about their countertops because they understand and care about the customer, use the highest quality of quartz, and do not market nor promote it unless they can stand behind it.
1. It’s 93% quartz
Yes, Cambria uses many different sizes of quartz. They have certain recipes for creating each one. All the recipes receive a quartz powder (flour consistency) to fill all the voids in it.
2. All finishes have a Lifetime Warranty
Yes, it doesn’t matter if you choose the Standard Gloss finish or Matte finish, they both have lifetime warranties. They are coming out with a new finish that will be the “Wow” factor some designers are looking for. More to come about this in the next couple of months.
3. How It’s Made
The Davis Family came from the food industry, so they are used to the strict safety food standards. They use those same procedures in making quartz. Making sure the consumer receives the highest quality of product and their employees are safe while creating it. Safety is their #1 priority.
4. The sizes
Molds are the key to their success. All designs come in 3cm or 2cm. You can get a custom quote for a 1cm which would be for a backsplash or tub or shower applications. All designs come in a Standard Slab (122” x 55.5”) or Jumbo Slab (132” x 65.5”). Only a few designs currently come in the Super Jumbo Slabs (136” x 80”).
5. Customer Service
Yes, customer service is huge. I pay more for my cell phone service because of their phenomenal customer service. That’s no different when you chose a Cambria. They understand how full our lives are and they make it easy for you to register your beautiful Cambria quartz. Also, if your countertop has some nicks on the edges just reach out to Cambria to get your countertop freshened and fixed.
